Lighthouse Arts Presents: Johnathan Digiulian & Roger Humphries Quartet

  • Golden Age Beer Company 337 East 8th Avenue Homestead, PA, 15120 United States (map)

Golden Age is honored to host this summer’s series of Lighthouse Arts, Inc. performances, celebrating jazz throughout the Pittsburgh region with performances by some of its best jazz musicians.

We continue that summer concert series this Saturday, with an album release party for “Intentions” by George Heid III, featuring Joe “Sonny” Barbato on acordian, Paul Thompson on the bass, Antonio Croes on piano, and, of course, George on the drums. As always, live entertainment at Golden Age is FREE TO THE PEOPLE. Never a cover charge.

George writes: “Intentions is a journey through the deep love and unbreakable bond I shared with my dad. It reflects the paths we traveled together, his intentions in shaping my life, my intentions in caring for him in his declining years, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

This album is filled with personal history and meaning, woven with my father's voice through audio samples pulled from voicemails, home videos, and archived recordings. Some are obvious, others are subtle Easter eggs for those listening closely. The music carries treasures from the Heid archives and keeps his presence alive, making him an active part of this work.”

Lighthouse Arts, Inc. was established to improve the quality of jazz education by making accessible the opportunities for students and the community at large to learn and experience the many dimensions of jazz music and the creative artists who play it. We shall incorporate partnerships with the community, schools and arts organizations that will recapture, teach and preserve the music’s history and culture, in an accessible environment that promotes awareness and appreciation.
